Rythu Sadassu and Agricultural Exhibition organized by Agricultural Research Station, DAATTC, Karimnagar and RAWEP students on 25-01-2021

Rythu Sadassu and Agriculture Exhibition was organized by Agricultural Research Station, DAATTC, Karimnagar and RAWEP students in research station premises on 25.01.2021. The District Magistrate & Collector, Karimnagar Sri K.Shashanka, IAS garu was the chief guest of the programme. The other dignitaries Associate Director of Research, RARS, Jagtial Dr.P.Jagan Mohan Rao, District Agricultural Officer, Karimnagar Sri V.Sridhar, Project Director, ATMA, Karimnagar Smt.Priyadarshini, KVK, Jammikunta Senior Scientist & Head, Dr.N.Venkateshwar Rao participated in the programme. All the dignitaries and farmers participated in the demonstration of drone spraying on maize field, seed-cum-ferti drill and boom sprayer which showcased the future technologies of mechanization by reducing human interference saving time and money. Later the dignitaries visited the exhibition stalls of RAWEP students of (05) Agricultural colleges, Rajendranagar, Jagtial, Warangal, Palem, Sircilla who arranged (25) exhibits on various models on developed technologies like different rice establishment methods like modified mat nursery, machine planting, direct seeding, Alternate Wetting & Drying in paddy, Integrated Farming System model, Paired row maize under fertigation, Fall Army Warm Management in Maize, Aquaponics, Integrated Pest Management in cotton, Monkey gun for birds scaring and wild boar management etc. Promising cultivars of PJTSAU and value added products like sesame oil and safflower oil were shown to the all the participants and also visited the private company stalls of Coramandal, Carteva etc. After visit to the exhibition stall, the meeting has been arranged presided by Associate Director of Research, R.A.R.S., Jagtial. Dr.G.Manjulatha, Principal Scientist(Agro) & Head, Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar invited all the dignitaries on to the Dias and welcomed the farmers, RAWEP students and their host farmers, line department officers, private companies and their staff, colleague Scientists and staff of research station, Print and Electronic Media. The programme started with the University song. Dr.G.Manjulatha, Principal Scientist(Agro) & Head, Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar has briefed the research, extension and seed production activities that are taken up at research station. Dr.P.Jagan Mohan Rao, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Jagtial in his presidential address has explained about the importance of RAWEP programme its objectives and activities taken up. The chief guest, District Magistrate & Collector, Karimnagar, Sri K.Shashanka, IAS garu addressed and stated that Karimnagar district is agriculturally in front line and agricultural production moved from deficiency to sufficiency levels and even to export and emphasized the importance of mechanization and soil sustenance for economic development of farming community. Later, Rythu Sadassu with farmer’s scientist’s interaction session was conducted where the team of scientists from ARS, DAATTC, Karimnagar & RARS, Jagtial given remedies to the farmers problems in the field crops. Sri V.Sridhar, District Agricultural Officer, Karimnagar has stressed on predictive, productive and remunerative farming practices and advised the farmers to cultivate crops based on market demand. Dr.N.Venkateshwar Rao, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Jammikunta advised the farmers to reduce the application of phosphorous fertilizers as huge deposits are available in soil and PSB to be applied to solubulize the fixed phosphorous and make it available to crop and reduce the cost on ‘P’ fertilizer. Smt.Priyadarshini, Project Director, ATMA, Karimnagar emphasized on crop diversification on to go for pulses and uses of leaf colour chart for ‘N’ application in paddy, bioaccoustic usage for wild boars. Finally the Associate Director of Research, R.A.R.S., Jagtial Dr.P.Jagan Mohan Rao advised the students to learn by doing and believe by seeing and emphasized to take up measures to prevent burning of stubbles in paddy and to save soils and microfauna. Farmers are advised to follow crop rotation and inter cropping in ID crops, to save nature. In this programme Dr.B.Srinivas, Scientist(Pl.Br), RARS, Jagtial, Sri.K.Shekar, Scientist(Crop Production) & Coordinator, Dr.K.Madan Mohan Reddy, Scientist(TOT), DAATTC, Karimnagar, Dr.A.Vijaya Bhaskar, Senior Scientist(Pl.Patho), Dr.E.Rajanikanth, Scientist(Agro), Dr.G.Usha Rani, Scientist(Pl.Br), Dr.D.Sravani, Scientist(Pl.Br), and Dr.B.Soujanya, Scientist(Economics) and Non- Teaching staff, print and electronic media persons and (150) farmers participated in the programme. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by the RAWEP students.
