Rythusadassu and Agricultural Exhibition by RAWEP students of KVK, Malyal on 23-01-2021

RAWEP students from KVK, Malyal organised a Rythusadassu and Agricultural exhibition at Korukondapalle village, Kesamudram mandal, Mahabubabad district on 23-01-2021. Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal acted as the chief guest of the programme. Twelve RAWEP students prepared and displayed exhibits on drum seeding in rice, alternate wetting and drying method in rice, machine transplanting in rice, mushroom cultivation, types of mulching, Solar energy, biogas plant, micro irrigation, vermicompost, etc which were appreciated by the guests and farmers. Dr. S. Malathi, Programmer co-ordintor, KVK, Malyal gave a brief insight about the RAWEP programme to the gathering and gave details of the RAWEP students attached to KVK, Malyal this year. The students shared their RAWEP experiences and farmers expressed their views on the programme. The public representatives – Sri. D. Chandra Mohan, MPP (Kesamudram), Sri. M. Narayan Rao, AMC (Kesamudram), Sri. D. Praveen, Mandal Rythubandhu Samithi Coordinator, Smt. N. Jyothi srinivas, Sarpanch- Korukondapalle , Dr.Yakub Reddy, District member-RBS, and others also addressed the gathering, congratulated the students for their effort and raised certain issues like development of pest and disease resistant varieties in different crops, giving importance to curcumin content while deciding the price of turmeric, organic farming, etc. Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research while addressing the farmers urged the farmers to think and act innovatively in selecting the crop and should adopt better management practices while growing the selected crop. He pointed out that famers should also focus on other crops like marigold, drumstick. Dr. S. Malathi, PC- KVK, Malyal briefed on initial pest management in rice, disease management in chilli. In this programme, KVK, Malyal scientists – Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, Dr. E. Rambabu, Smt. A. Ramulamma , Sri. B. Kranthi Kumar; Department of Agriculture officials Sri. M. Laxminarayana, ADA, Mahabubabad, Sri. B. Venkanna, MAO (Kesamudram) participated in the meeting. 300 farmers visted the stalls and attended the sadassu.
