Skill Development Training Programmes on Sericulturist and Quality Seed Growers under ASCI to the farmers inaugurated at KVK, Palem on 12-02-2020

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Palem was inaugurated two Sill Development training programmes under Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) of 25 days duration on a) Sericulturist and b) Quality Seed Growers on 12.02.2020. Main objective of the training is to provide hands on training to rural youth for minimum 200 hours duration for their self-employment. A total of forty trainees (20 in each programme) had registered for the programme. Sri. M. Rajashekhar, SMS (Plant Protection) and Sri. B. Rajashekhar, SMS (Extension) planned the selection of trainees and schedule for training programme with theory, practical, field visit and exposure visits to relevant units. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem spoke about the importance of the programme organized by ASCI under PMKVY and briefed about the programme themes and schedule. Sri. B. Singa Reddy, DAO, Nagarkurnool and special Guest of the occasion mentioned that farmers is lacking skill in self employment entrepreneurial programmes. Hence, there is a need to plan and execute the skill development programmes in an efficient manner with an aim to Double the Income of Farmers. Sri. M. Chandrashekhar Rao, DHSO, Nagarkurnool spoke about subsidy schemes in sericulture in Telangana state and hoping that these trainings will boost the farmers to become entrepreneurs. Dr.P. Raghuramireddy, Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Palem mentioned that agricultural skill will play an important role in transforming youth into agri-preneures so that they can be self employed as well as provide employment to others through skill development programme. The programme was attended by Sri. Ramesh Babu, ADA, Nagarkurnool, Smt. Neeti, AO, Bijenepalli and teaching & nonteaching staff of the KVK, Palem. Sri. M. Rajashekhar, SMS (Plant Protection) delivered formal vote of thanks.
