Trainings on Traceability of Agri exports and Value addition in Fish sector for line dept officials of southern states are being conducted at EEI, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad from 14-18th September, 2021

Ministry of Commerce and Industry introduced Agricultural Export Policy, 2018 with an aim to double farmers income by 2022 by doubling agricultural exports from India and integrating Indian farmers and agriculture products in India to the global value chain. Keeping in view the targets fixed by GoI in agriculture exports, Extension Education Institute, Hyderabad in collaboration with MANAGE, Hyderabad is organizing 4 day online training programme to 53 middle level extension functionaries from PAN India on‘Identification, packing, certification, traceability, branding for agriculture exports’ from 14th to 17th September, 2021. Important sessions such as role of APEDA, block chain technology, branding, packing, traceability etc were designed to be addressed by real time practitioners in field for the benefit of trainees. Dr.M.Jagan Mohan Reddy, Director, EEI in his inaugural address advised the trainees to translate knowledge gained in the training into practise at back home situation of trainees. He requested them to incorporate the learnings gained into job chart of trainees for implementation among farmers groups. The programme objectives and schedule was explained by Dr.R.Vasantha, Professor & Programme Coordinator and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr.P.Vijaya Lakshmi, Professor & Programme Coordinator.

EEI kick start training programme on fisheries
To double the farmers income, the role of agriculture & allied products owes significance. Fisheries and agriculture make to employment, nutrition and trade in the developing world. Further, development of sustainable aquaculture and improvement in post harvest sector to reduce losses could help to maintain fish supply and contribution of fish to development.Owing to the significance of contribution of fisheries to economy, EEI has conducted recent, relevant and realistic five day online training programme from 14.09.2021 on ‘Promotion of technologies and extension strategies for value addition and post harvest technologies for the officers of fisheries sector. Dr.M.Jagan Mohan Reddy, Director, EEI inaugurated the programme. In his inaugural address, Dr.M.Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that quality maintenance of sea food owes utmost importance from the health concerns of consumers. He also emphasised to translate the learning’s to field level. During these five days, PAN South India participants will be sensitized on overview of fish processing technology in value addition and fisheries management, formation of marketing strategies, preparation of fisheries products and ready to eat products, supply chain linkage mechanisms in fisheries, e- trade, quality control measures, exports of fisheries products, by product utilization, entrepreneurial opportunities and incentives of government. The eminent speakers of national and international repute will be deliberating session on various burning topics of the day. Dr.A.Sailaja, Professor, EEI conducted the programme.
