Tree Plantation Drive and Kisan Ghosti conducted at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kampasagar, Nalgonda District on 17-09-2019

As per the instructions of ATARI-ICAR, Hyderabad and Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, Hyderabad, The Environmental Awareness Programme, on the plantation drive was started at KVK campus at 10:30 AM. The VIPs, KVK Scientists, Agricultural RAWEP students and Agricultural Polytechnic Students were all assembled at the venue. The inagural programme was started with welcome address by Dr.T.Bharath, SMS (Crop Production) inviting the guests on to the dias. After lightening lamp the Environmental Awareness Programme was started by Dr.M.A.Aariff Khan, Programme Coordinator briefed about the importance of tree plantation and Agroforestry at present day. The public representatives local Sarpanch, Kampasagar Sri D.Adivayyaiah and Vice Sarpanch, Sri Saidulu spoke related to Massive Tree Plantation in the Kampasagar village. Later in Kisan Ghosti session the farmers expressed doubts and requested to tree guards to protect the young saplings and satisfied with distribution of saplings. Different multipurpose tree species saplings (300 No) useful for purpose of Agroforestry were distributed to the farmers, students and other participants. The Chief Guest of the programme Sri Y.Shekar Reddy, Project Director, DRDA cum Haritha Haram, Special officer, Nalgonda graced the occasion. Briefed about guide lines of Haritha Haram and clarified the doubts raised by the participants in Kisan Ghosti. Smt. Alivelu Mangamma, MPDO, Tripuraram also spoked about the Government Schemes and Financial assistance given to maintenance of plantations. Finally the Chief Guest, Sarpanch, Vice Sarpanch, MPDO, KVK, Scientists and Students all were participated in plantation programme at KVK, Kampasagar. The total number of tree species planted were 54 No. with multipurpose tree species suitable for agro forestry like Teak (15), Acacia mangium (15),Terminalia arjuna (5), Bahunia purpuria (10) and Tamarind (4). Finally with the vote of thanks the programme was winded up at 3:00 PM.
