Tribal Kisan Mela conducted under TSP in Adopted Village cum DFI Village at BT Thanda on 28-07-2020 by KVK, Kampasagar

The KVK, Kampasagar organized and conducted Tribal Kisan Mela under Tribal Sub Plan at Off campus B.T. Thanda, Hamlet, Kistapuram (V), Miryalaguda (M) Nalgonda District on 28.07.2020. The B.T. Thanda is an Adopted cum Doubling Farmers Income (DFI) village attached to KVK, Kampasagar. The Tribal Kisan Mela was started by inviting guests on the dias followed by Lighting lamp and folk song on significance of tree Plantation in monsoon by Sri. Sanjeev Rao, Director, ANKITHA, NGO, Miryalaguda. Dr.M.A.Aariff Khan, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Kampasagar addressed the gathering about the importance and purpose of main theme of Tribal Kisan Mela and enlightened the tribal farmers about different new technologies suitable to their village situations. Followed by Dr.S. Damodhar Raju, Principal Scientist and Head, ARS briefed about performance of new Rice Varieties released suitable to local situations. Later Scientists of ARS and KVK, Kampasagar also briefed about different Agriculture and Horticulture technologies, Plant Protection Measures, Nutri Kitchen garden. Smt.S. Pallavi, SMS (Extension) Tribal Kisan Mela incharge finally briefed about the usefulness of Annapurna Krishi Prasara Seva (AKPS), other mobile apps and media in present days. Smt.V. Padma garu, Sarpanch and Smt. Venkataramana garu, MPTC, B.T. Thanda, Kistapuram (V) as Chief Guest space on the occassion and expressed the problems faced by the Tribal Farmers and lack of new technologies in cultivation of Rice and Vegetables crops and requested KVK, Kampasagar to solve the field problems with low cost investment. Exhibits, Models, Specimens, Foundation Seed bags and Soil Testing kits were displayed in the exhibition stall to enlight the participants. The number of Tribal farmers participated 73, among them women farmers (45) shown more interest and actively participated than men farmers. Face masks were distributed to all participants. Sanitization measures and maintaining social distance were also taken care due to Covid-19 prevailing situation. As a feed back farmers expressed their views and thanked KVK, Kampasagar for adopting B.T. Thanda hamlet and conducting ongoing programmes. Finally, the programme was winded up with vote of thanks.
