Celebration of World Fisheries Day at G. Annaram Village by KVK, Kampasagar on 21-11-2020

The KVK, Kampasagar was conducted one day awareness cum training programme on Freshwater Fish Culture and celebrated World Fisheries Day at G. Annaram Village, Tripuraram Mandal, Nalgonda Dist, on 21.11.2020. Dr. M.A. Aariff Khan, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Kampasagar chaired the dias and briefed about the importance and having scope for development of Inland Fisheries by Nagarjuna Sagar Project Left Canal, Reservoirs and natural tanks in Nalgonda Dist, Telangana State and suggested farmers not to depend completely on agriculture only and should focus on allied sectors like Aquaculture, Horticulture etc for better returns and overall sustainability. Ms. J. Jeshwanthi SRF, (Fisheries) briefed about the Pond construction, culturable inland fishes like Catla, Rohu, Mrigal, Common Carp, Murrel etc., and Best Management Practices (BMPs) in fish culture, importance of Water quality parameters, Feed management for better growth of fish. In post lunch session Sri. J. Parameshwar, Fish Farmer was selected and felicitated as best farmer for his contribution to fish culture for following good Management practices and Bio-security in fish ponds. Sri. Chilaka Subash Reddy, Sarpanch, G. Annaram chaired as chief guest of the programme and requested KVK, Kampasagar to give technical support whenever needed. Mitra Foundation, Dr Reddys Laboratory, Miryalaguda Agriculture Division assistants and fellow fish farmers altogether 25 participated.
