World Soil Day Celebrated on 05-12-2019 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bhadradri Kothagudem

Krishi Vigyan Kendra organised an Awareness programme on Soil Fertility Management on the occasion of World Soil Day on 05.12.2019. Hon’ble MLA Sri Vanama Venkateshwar Rao, Dr. P. Jagan Mohan Rao, Associate Director of Research, RARS attended as guests and inaugurated the programme. Ms. V. Daiva Shiromani, gave introduction and welcomed all the dignitaries on to the dias. The programme was Dr. G. Veeranna, Programme Coordinator has given a detailed view of mandate and activities taken up by the institute for the benefit of farming community of the district. Dr. S. Malathi, Principal Scientist (Entomology) explained about Precautions on pesticide usage for soil health management. Dr. P. Jagan Mohan Rao, ADR, RARS, Warangal has spoke in detail about the ‘World Soil Day’ and importance of Soil Management in sustainable agriculture. Hon’ble MLA Sri Vanama Venkateshwar Rao lauded the work done by KVK and the university for the benefit of farmers of the district and congratulated the scientists of organising the programme for the creating awareness on protecting the Soil health. He also said soil fertility is the basis for all the agricultural activity which needs to feed the ever growing population. Later, all the guests visited the exhibition stalls and enquired about the new varieties, drum seeder, biofertilizers and other technologies on display. A total of 250 farmers and officers participated in the programme and working lunch was provided for them. Dr. R. Vishwatej, proposed the Vote of thanks for all the dignitaries, scientists, officers, farmers, media persons and other KVK staff for making the programme a grand success.
