World Soil Day cum Training Programme on Organic farming and soil health at KVK Kampasagar, Nalgonda Dist.

As per the instructions of the Director, ATARI-ICAR and PJTSAU, Hydearabd the World Soil Day cum Training on Organic farming and Soil health was conducted on 05.12.2019 for farmers and Agriculture Diploma students at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kampasagar. Dr.M.A. Aariff Khan Programme Coordinator, KVK, Kampasagar inaugurated the Programme and addressed the gathering. On the occasion he briefed importance of Soil quality improved by organic farming to farmers. Dr.Sameer Kumar, Principal Scientist (Millet), Palem, Dr.L.Krishna, Senior Scientist (Plant Breeding), Rice Section, Rajendranagar, Dr.K.Sumalini, Vice-Principal, APT, Kampasagar and Dr. T. Bharath, SMS (Crop production) and other scientists and nearly 60 farmers were participated. Later, Dr.Sameer Kumar, Principal Scientist (Millet) briefed the importance of pulse crop production in cropping for enriching fertility. Dr.L.Krishna, Senior Scientist (Plant Breeding), Rice Section, Rajendranagar briefed about rice nursery management and varieties suitable for rabi season. Finally, Soil health cards were distributed to farmers and programme closed at evening 4.00 PM.
